Classroom Expectations

To begin the year we will create a classroom contract where we address and create rules that students and myself will be expected to follow. Students will be the creator in this process with the teacher as the facilitator. These are expectations that will best fit the students within the classroom and the expectations they believe are needed. On the contract each student will take ownership in the expectations by signing to indicate that they will adhere to the expectations listed. The contract will then be posted at the front of the classroom to be addressed and discussed as needed while allowing students access to the list each day.

Expectations to consider and push students to think about...

  • Have a growth mindset

  • Be respectful to my peers and the teacher

  • Use active listening

  • Always try your best

  • Be active learners within the classroom

  • Be responsible for yourself and your belongings

  • Follow the directions the first time
